2011 Washington D.C. Film Critics Awards Give ‘The Artist’ Another Boost

View the Updated Precursor Charts

These awards are a week late, but I wanted to get all of the ducks in a row before big announcements come today from the Los Angeles, Boston, and New York Online critics. The Washington D.C. Film Critics Association announced their winners last Sunday and in numerous ways they matched the New York Film Critics Circle. Both groups gave their Best Picture award to The Artist and both chose Albert Brooks for the Best Supporting Actor. In the other categories, they were mostly split.

It will be interesting to see if the groups that will announce today (and throughout the week) will agree on The Artist as the Best Picture, or if they will go their own way like the National Board of Review. We will find out in a few hours.
