Anvil! The Story of Anvil may not be eligible for any Oscars after it missed out on the Academy’s short list, but it’s definitely not short on love this awards season. The Sacha Gervais documentary about a Canadian metal band was the big story at the 2009 International Documentary Association Awards, winning best feature documentary and best musical documentary.

Also given out at the IDA Awards ceremony were the awards for Best Short Documentary, which went to Michael Angus and Murray Fredericks’ Salt, and Career Achievement, which went to the great Errol Morris. The ceremony was held Friday evening.

The entire list of winners is after the jump.
