BFCA Reveals Early 2010 Movie Rankings

The Broadcast Film Critics Association has been doing a sort of Rotten Tomatoes style review aggregator for the reviews of its members and they recently revealed a first look at the 2010 rankings. Three recent releases are comfortably in the 4-star range on the movies list with a score of 85 or higher – Toy Story 3, Winter’s Bone, and The Kids Are All Right. The latter film isn’t even officially released in theatres until July 8, 2010, but it has already screened for select audience to much acclaim.

Films that have also scored well include the Swedish thriller The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, Dreamworks’ How to Train Your Dragon, and superhero comedy Kick-Ass. Also, the BFCA enjoyed films like Shutter Island better than Tomatometer critics giving that particular film a score of 81 versus RT’s 67.

In 2009, 8 out of the 10 BFCA picks for Best Picture received a score of 4 stars or better, the only exceptions being Invictus and Nine. This hints at good things to come for Toy Story 3, Winter’s Bone, and The Kids Are All Right when the BFCA announces their 2010 award nominations in 6 months. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves.

Awards Daily has gathered up a large number of 2010 releases and ordered them by rank. Check out that list below:
