Dallas-Ft. Worth Critics Give a Rare Nod to ‘Biutiful’

Several films that were once thought to be major Oscar players have been essentially ignored this precursor season including Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu’s Cannes favorite Biutiful. Not only has the film not received any major awards in the Best Picture categories, but its star, Javier Bardem, who was speculated to be a favorite for Best Actor after the film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival has not received any precursor attention. The only category where the film seems to have any hope remaining is in Best Foreign Film as it is Mexico’s selection for the Oscar.

The Dallas-Ft. Worth critics seem to be supporting their effort as they have given the film its Best Foreign Film prize. In their other categories they follow the pack.
