Fascinating because after watching them, you still have no idea what the film is about. You literally can’t even narrow it down. However, there is some mighty fine CGI work afoot.
The first clip contains Heath Ledger, actually sounding like the Heath that we all loved. He appears as Tony, an MC-type who is in a mall-setting, enticing some busy mom-aged women to escape their dreary lives and escape into fantasy. Ooooh…
(More clips after the jump…)
In the second clip, Dr. Parnassus, played by Christopher Plummer, tells Valentina, played by Lily Cole, of a man that he met, leading to a flashback that we don’t get to see much of. The beginning of the flashback looks SO much like Minas Tirith from Lord of the Rings. The CGI does look nice.
In the third and final clip, Valentina takes on a Lolita persona as she teasingly refuses to run away with a man, lying about her true age.
The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus will be in theatres in October of 2009.
