Golden Globe Predictions

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association is comprised of journalists from outside of North America that mostly cover American film and television. The Golden Globe awards tend to be a much more laid back awards ceremony, with the drinks flowing, and a bigger sense of humor than the Oscars. It’s always fun to watch, even if some of their nominees are a bit questionable.

Anyway, here are my predictions for tonight’s Golden Globe Awards:

Best Motion Picture (Drama)
Slumdog Millionaire

Best Actress (Drama)
Meryl Streep – Doubt
Kate Winslet – Revolutionary Road

Best Actor (Drama)
Sean Penn – Milk
INCORRECTMickey Rourke – The Wrestler

Best Motion Picture (Musical/Comedy)
INCORRECTVicky Cristina Barcelona

Best Actress (Musical/Comedy)
Sally Hawkins – Happy-Go-Lucky

Best Actor (Musical/Comedy)
Dustin Hoffman – Last Chance Harvey
INCORRECTColin Farrell – In Bruges

Best Supporting Actress
Penelope Cruz – Vicky Cristina Barcelona
INCORRECT Kate Winslet – The Reader

Best Supporting Actor
Heath Ledger – The Dark Knight

Best Animated Film

Best Foreign Film
Waltz With Bashir

Best Director
Danny Boyle – Slumdog Millionaire

Best Screenplay
Slumdog Millionaire

Best Original Score
Alexandre Desplat – The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
INCORRECT – A.R. Rahman – Slumdog Millionaire

Best Original Song
Bruce Springsteen – “The Wrestler” – The Wrestler

I’m not going to bother with the television categories, although I will admit that I am pulling for Kiefer Sutherland.

Agree? Disagree? Thoughts?
