Synopsis from IMDb:

From Jason Reitman, the Oscar® nominated director of Juno, comes a comedy called Up in the Air starring Oscar® winner George Clooney as Ryan Bingham, a corporate downsizing expert whose cherished life on the road is threatened just as he is on the cusp of reaching ten million frequent flyer miles and just after hes met the frequent-traveler woman of his dreams.

If you have been paying attention to this site, you know that the film was the hit of the recent Telluride Film Festival, and it is one of the most anticipated films at the upcoming Toronto International Film Festival. It is already being touted as a serious Oscar contender for Best Picture, Director, Actor, Supporting Actress, Screenplay, and many more.

This trailer is fantastic from start to finish. The monologue by George Clooney has a hesitancy to it, that I’m sure underscores his performance. Also, the brief aerial shots we see of major U.S. cities is astounding. Chalk this one up as a contender for Best Cinematography.

Up in the Air will have its U.S. release on December 4, 2009.
