Listen to R2-D2 and C-3PO Sing on the Star Wars Christmas Album

It’s three days before Christmas. Schools are letting out, people are getting time off work, and the Holiday parties are officially kicking into gear. This year you can be the life of the Holiday party by bringing a copy of “Christmas in the Stars: Star Wars Christmas Album.”

Recorded in 1980, “Christmas in the Stars” features several classic Holiday tunes that have been slightly altered to have a Star Wars theme such as “Sleigh Ride” and “R2-D2 We Wish You a Merry Christmas.” It also includes several new songs including the lovable hit “What Can You Get a Wookie for Christmas (When He Already Owns a Comb)?”

The original voice of C-3PO, Anthony Daniels, provides his own voice for several of the songs and the only other recognizable characters are R2-D2 and Chewbacca. Most of the songs were written by Maury Yeston (yes, the same Maury Yeston who wrote the music for Nine).

I have several of the songs available for preview after the jump and you can purchase the CD on Amazon.

“Sleigh Ride”

C-3PO teaches R2 how to sing along with this classic Christmas tune.

“R2-D2 We Wish You a Merry Christmas”

A chorus of children sing Merry Christmas to R2.

“What Can You Get a Wookie for Christmas (When He Already Has a Comb)?”

Last, but not least this song is just too ridiculous not to listen to.

I hope this put some extra joy into your Holiday season. Have a great season everybody!
