It is high time for a new Daily Trivia Contest at Film Misery! Back by popular demand is Name the Score, a contest wherein I will post a new movie score every day and your task will simply be to name the movie it is from. All of the scores will be original and composed for the movie they first appeared in.
There is some stiff competition on the All-Time Top 50 list with several names moving much higher after the last contest. Ethan Savel was the lucky winner having answered the most Blockbuster Taglines and getting his final answer submitted the fastest. ijrichter still has a commanding lead on the All-Time Top 50, but anybody could make it into the top 10.
This month’s prize is a pretty fantastic 4-pack of DVDs from four of today’s greatest working directors: David Fincher, Michael Mann, Christopher Nolan, and Taylor Hackford. This set includes the movie Seven, David Fincher’s second feature-length film and the one many argue established his style. Christopher Nolan’s follow-up to the brilliant Memento was the murder-mystery Insomnia that offers psychological suspense throughout. One of Michael Mann’s most discussed movies Heat pairs Robert De Niro and Al Pacino for the first time since The Godfather, Part II. Also included is Taylor Hackford’s The Devil’s Advocate which is about a lawyer who has to deal with the devil. All of these movies are presented in Widescreen and include commentaries by their respective directors.
