50 Best Franchises-Leave money out of it. Twilight is not a great franchise despite making cash. Plus, how did the Home Alone movies get worse reviews than the Scary Movie Saga?

    Kids Are All Right-Boo hoo.

Free Movie of the Day-Boy’s Town is not part of any “great lineup.”

Jolie is making a BOSNIAN WAR EPIC? Next we’ll see Michael Bay doing an adaptation of a Hemingway novel.

And Pixar, this short makes me forgive you for any flaws in Cars/Cars 2. And it made me think, “Pixar should really create films for adults.”

  • I liked “Boys’ Town” a lot, actually. It falls a little short of “great”, I agree, but it’s very good.

I thought it was pretty poor and the BP nomination is annoying.

First off, it’s DATED. I mean, a large group of young boys and some priests. Cue pedophilia jokes.

And it got Oscar nominations for Actor-Tracy is a very overrated actor and all he did was say “There’s no such thing as a bad boy” in the same manner over…and over…and over…

Story (the founding of Boys Town isn’t a particularly good story if you ask me)…

Screenplay (“There’s no such thing as a bad boy…there’s no such thing as a bad boy…”)…

And Director (what is so well-directed about this movie?)

The Academy nominated so many mediocre films in the 30s.

DID ANYONE SEE THAT NOW iTUNES IS DOING THIS THING WHERE FOR EVERYDAY YOU CAN RENT ONE MOVIE FOR 99 CENTS. BUT JUST FOR THAT DAY. AND THEY’RE GOOD MOVIES PEOPLE HAVE HEARD NOT LIKE USALLY WHEN THEY HAVE MOVIES THAT FLOPPED AND NO ONE HEARD OF. LIKE TODAY IT WAS “KICK-ASS”!

  • You want to see a truly poor film (and performance by Tracy): try “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner?”

“Boys’ Town”: way better. While I guess that doesn’t technically prove it’s good, still…

This is completely off subject but is anybody here a memeber of IMDb. Whenever I go to a different page it keeps signing me out and when I try to vote on that Top 250 page it won’t let me.

Also, that Metropolis robot at the top is cool.
