  • The Guardian has created an advent calendar of Christmas movies that will release a new one each day for the count up to the 25th of December. The films so far are Fanny and Alexander (in my all-time top 10) and Gone With the Wind. [The Guardian]

  • The Sundance Film Festival has announced its list of 2o10 dramatic and documentary films that are in competition. The list includes films starring Kristen Stewart, James Gandolfini, Ryan Gosling, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Natalie Portman, and one film directed by Mark Ruffalo. [Cinematical]

Review of the Day:

  • One of my favorite Holiday films of all-time, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, gets a great review from Todd Gilchrist. [Cinematical]

Oscar News of the Day:

  • The Grammy nominations came out today and 2009 releases Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Star Trek,  and Up all received nods for Best Score Soundtrack Album for Motion Picture, Television Or Other Visual Media. [Variety]

Picture of the Day:

  • (Above) For Empire Magazine’s 20th Birthday, they convinced a slew of stars to re-create their most iconic film roles in a photo shoot. [Empire Online]

Video of the Day:

  • A clip from The Lovely Bones has been released that features a touching scene between Mark Wahlberg’s character and his daughter played by Saoirse Ronan. It also features Peter Jackson’s trademark swooping camera shots. Check it out after the jump. [Trailer Addict]
