Of the Day – Episode 1 – 10.19.09

I’ve been busy all day so I thought I would start a new series called “Of the Day” where I post the highlights of the day in film news. Here she goes.

Read of the Day:

  • Killer Film has been posting the Halloween Movie watch lists from each of its contributors. They have highlighted some classic and in some cases rare horror flicks. Dave Parker’s list is posted today. [Killer Film]

News of the Day:

  • Spike Lee may be directing a stand-up film of comedian Tracy Morgan. Sounds like a great idea to me. [The Playlist]

Review of the Day:

  • Apparently (and probably thankfully) I was wrong about the positive response to Amelia. The other major review from yesterday tears it apart. [Variety]

Photo of the Day:

  • (Above) Aaron Johnson as John Lennon in the upcoming film Nowhere Boy. Beautiful picture, but looks more James Dean than John Lennon. [Rotten Tomatoes]

Trailer of the Day:

  • Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted, Day Watch) has a new film coming out about a boy with a flying car. The trailer looks decent and I’m hoping it’s more Night/Day Watch than Wanted (For English subtitles click on the video and watch at YouTube). After the jump… [/Film]
