Of the Day – Episode 7 – 11.02.09

Read of the Day:

  • In honor of the upcoming film The Men Who Stare at Goats, the Guardian has come up with a list of popular U.S. military myths. [The Guardian]

News of the Day:

  • One of my favorite actors of all-time, Sir Ian McKellen, will be starring in a British mockumentary TV show called “The Academy.” If it is anything like his performance on the show “Extras,” than this is excellent news. [ComingSoon.net]

Review of the Day:

  • Just as I suspected and secretly hoped, Robert Zemeckis’s A Christmas Carol is not looking like a great film. The first review of the film by Variety’s Todd McCarthy is an excellent pan. [Variety]

Picture of the Day:

  • (Above) In anticipation of next week’s DVD/Blu-Ray release of the best movie of the year so far, Up, some retro posters found their way online today. [Rope of Silicon]

Trailer of the Day:

  • Although I’m not particularly excited for the film, The Prince of Persia: Sands of Time got its trailer premiere today. The trailer is not bad – view it after the jump. [Cinematical]

  • Speaking of “Up”, are you ever going to post a review of that masterpiece? And anything with Jim Carrey in it is sure to be lousy (I’ve heard “The Truman Show” is good, though).

  • Vince

The Truman Show is brilliant. Ed Harris is what makes it so, not Jim Carrey

  • Ugh. I want this Up poster!

  • @G1000
I’ll do a DVD review when it comes out next week.
