With the success of J.J. Abrams’ Super 8, many argue that this television and movie producer has emerged as a directing talent to seriously watch. Despite all of his notoriety he has actually only directed three feature length theatrical films, all of which have received mostly positive reviews. However, he is one of those names, like Tim Burton or Steven Spielberg, that seem to get a lot of the credit for a film’s success or failure despite the fact that he is not in the director’s chair. For instance Cloverfield was actually directed by Matt Reeves, but in casual conversation many would classify it as an Abrams film.
This week’s poll is a simple one: Of the three films that J.J. Abrams has directed – Mission Impossible III, Star Trek, and Super 8 – which is your favorite? To further the discussion I would also like to know if his name being attached to a film is enough to draw you to the theatre? Vote below and be sure to share your thoughts in the comments!
