POLL: What is Your Favorite Clint Eastwood Movie Since 2000?

In our discussion of J. Edgar on this week’s Film Misery Podcast we talked about how Eastwood today is a different director than he was 20 or even 10 years ago. Clint Eastwood has been working in the film industry for almost seven decades and he has been working behind the camera since his first feature Play Misty for Me in 1971. He has been nominated for ten Academy Awards in his storied career, and if you do not include his Best Picture winning film Unforgiven, all of those nominations have come since the year 2000.

For this week’s poll we decided to reflect back on the recent work of Mr. Eastwood and ask about the films he has directed in the past decade. I suspect that if we were to include all of his films then something like Unforgiven our The Outlaw Josey Wales would be singled out as his best work. However, the sporadic nature of his recent work should make it more difficult to choose one of his recent films.

Vote on the poll below and be sure to share your thoughts in the comments!

You could have put Letters from Iwo Jima and Flags of out Fathers together as one since they can be viewed as a pair which makes for a much better viewing experience.

Letters From Iwo Jima sure is his most uncompromising, brave piece of work. Therefore it gets my vote (though arguably Mystic River is the more complete and entertaining film)

  • Million Dollar Baby for me is one of the best movies i have ever seen in my life and something that truly made me cry like a baby in front of everyone :P i appreciate his work very much but nothing recently except Gran Torino have impressed me. also i saw Letters From Iwo Jima few days back and it truly was an excellent movie.
